Busy, Busy, Busy
Last week was one busy week here at North Platte Area Habitat for Humanity. It was a week of firsts for us!
We hosted our first ever Kickoff Cookout Potluck to celebrate the beginning of the 2017 building season. We had Board of Director members and volunteers in attendance and several past and future partner families joined us as well. It was so good to get everyone together to meet those they hadn't met, including those building the houses and those who will eventually live in them. We had such a great time, we'll probably do it again next year!
We also hosted our first ever Volunteer Meeting for those folks interested in coming out to work on our houses. We covered a variety of safety lessons that our three Competent Person Safety training graduates JR Osbon, Kerry Murphy and Rich Wielechowski learned this past winter as well as the tentative build schedule for this summer.
With our current Construction Coordinator, Larry Pedersen, stepping down things will be changing here at North Platte Area Habitat for Humanity. So expect some things to be different but expect it to be the same quality experience a Habitat build has always been.
Our first Saturday Work Day is April 29th. We'll be putting insulation in House #49. We look forward to seeing you out there!
