Get Involved! Its Easy.

We are asked regularly, either here at our site or even when we are out and about in our wonderful community - "How can I get involved in Habitat for Humanity?" Luckily we know exactly how they can get involved and are happy to share that information.

First off, contact the office. Call us at (308) 534-6251, email us at northplattehabitat@gmail.com or just come on in to the office at 420 N Cottonwood. We love talking about Habitat for Humanity and would be happy to visit with you about the opportunities available for those interested in lending a hand.

But if you cannot make it in, here are some ideas for getting involved:

Come to our Build Days. We work nearly every Saturday during our build season (April - November) and love to welcome new Volunteers. We will hand you a hammer or a paintbrush, right after you complete the Liability Waiver and sign in to the book. Plenty of folks are on hand willing to get you started. No need to be shy here, you are among friends.

Feed our Volunteers. Each Saturday we have a morning break and lunch for our hard working volunteers. We love to hear from the magnificent cooks in our area who'd like to whip up a dish or two, or even those who don't know the difference between a wooden spoon and a waffle iron but who can pick up donuts or order pizza like a whiz! It is hard work to build a house and we like to provide sustenance to those who do the heavy lifting. If you can help out, you'll be providing a great service.

Join our Team. We have a very active Board of Directors and several Committees who provide oversight, advice and a little Sweat Equity of their own. If you are interested in serving in that capacity, please reach out to our Board members.

Of course, if you are unable to personally get involved but would like to help out you are welcome to provide financial support by joining our Carpenter Club. Members of the Carpenter Club commit to donating to each house we build throughout the year. You pick the level of involvement you're comfortable with. Go here for more information on the North Platte Area Habitat for Humanity Carpenter Club.

However you choose to help out, we welcome your support. It is because of you we are able to do what we do!
